James shares the Precast Studio "Soft Rock" Studio. The Soft Rock Studio is about finding "softer" ways materials like concrete relate to the natural environment. "If we think of concrete as a rock, how does that help us think of other ways we can work with concrete in the built environment."
About the Presenter
James Forren is the Assistant Professor in the Architecture Department at Dalhousie University. James spearheaded the first ever Precast Studio in Canada at Dalhousie. The studio was introduced in 2017 and continues to successfully operate annually. James has helped CPCI develop the studio programs over the last few years and has assisted other professors with establishing their own studio programs at their schools.
