Design of Data Centres Using Precast Prestressed Concrete

Run Time: 1:17 hours
Certificate: Continuing Education: Upon Course Completion viewer receives certificate to qualify for Professional Development Hours (PDH) and/or Continuing Education Units (CEUs)/Continuing Education Credits (CECs)
Host: Ozzy Dervisoglu • Karl Truderung • Ben Bayat.
Course Information

Building a data centre requires careful design and construction considerations. For maximum effectiveness, a data centre must accommodate ever-increasing equipment loads and protect sensitive equipment from climate change and human-made disasters. Ozzy Dervisoglu provides an Introduction to Data Centres. Karl Truderung discusses Design Considerations and Ben Bayat Showcases a recently completed Precast Data Centre.

About the Presenter

Ozzy Dervisoglu: Ozzy has been involved in numerous precast concrete data centre projects completed by Pre-Con Precast Limited. Ozzy is a Professional Engineer and previously served as chair of the Canadian Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (CPCI) Ontario Chapter.

Karl Truderung: A Professional Engineer with 29 years of experience in the planning, design, and detailing of structures, specializing in precast concrete. Karl is a long-time member of the CPCI Technical Committee and a CPCI Fellow and has provided technical direction and oversight on many industry funded research programs. He is a Senior Project Manager at Tower Engineering.

Ben Bayat: Founder and chief structural engineer of Building Theory an international engineering firm with offices in Canada, the USA, and the UAE.

Course Objectives

Design of Data Centres Using Precast Prestressed Concrete. Highlight and understand the design requirements for data centres. Identify various precast concrete elements used in data centres. Explore how precast concrete can be engineered to support heavy load demands and showcasing case studies of precast concrete data centre construction.
