About the Presenter
Michael P. Culmo specializes in structural engineering and has over four decades of experience, including roadway and bridge design. He is a nationally recognized expert in Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) in the US. He has spent nearly two decades of his career researching, developing, and promoting ABC technologies worldwide. He regularly collaborates with state Departments of Transportation, federal transportation
agencies, and academia to develop practical guidelines and standards for ABC.
Michael Culmo is recognized for his outstanding contributions to the field of bridge engineering. His notable achievements include developing
and researching Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) technologies and ultra-high-performance concrete, being the principal author of the 2018 AASHTO LRFD Guide Specifications for ABC, and championing bridge research across the US. Michael is a registered Professional Engineer in 13 US States.
