About the Presenter
Wayne Kassian, Kassian Dyck & Associates. Wayne provides over 38 years of diverse structural analysis and design experience of various structures throughout North America. He has been the Senior Structural Design Engineer for numerous projects, ranging from residential buildings to multimillion dollar industrial and commercial projects. Wayne is a member of CSR 23.3 Design of Concrete Structures and CSR 23.4 Precast Concrete Materials and Construction. He is the Editor in Chief of the CPCI Design Manual 6th edition. He sits on the Quality Assurance Council for the Canadian Precast Concrete Assurance Program, CPCQA. He is the current chair of the CPCI Technical Committee.
Kurt Ruhland, MTE Consultants; has over 30 years of building consulting experience in the field of structural engineering. He has a Bachelor of Science in Soil Engineer from the University of Illinois, and a master's of Science and Engineering from the University of California. Kurt is a licensed practitioner engineer in five Canadian provinces and 11 U.S. states. He has been the engineer of record and precast engineer in dozens of total precast concrete structures throughout Ontario. He currently sits as Vice Chair of the CPCI Technical Committee, and is also on the CPCI Board of Directors. He has spoken on the topic of concrete structures at ACI seminars, Construct Canada, the CSE conference, and other training sessions.
